Things to do in Perth Today

Perth and its surroundings have an abundance of things to see, do and enjoy during your time here. Whether sipping coffee in a café or viewing the latest works from aspiring artists, the capital of Western Australia is not to be dismissed when it comes to exploring and entertainment. Here are our picks for the best places to visit and things to do to in Perth this July!

Wild Bakery

Feed your soul with the rich taste of a cinnamon swirl at Wild Bakery. Serving classic French baked goods to the people of Fremantle, flavours, traditions and real food are at the heart of this hole-in-the-wall bakery, created in-store and on the way to your mouth as soon as possible. From sweet three-chocolate cakes and Turkish orange cakes to sourdough and bacon & egg brioche, whether you have a sweet tooth or crave a savory bite, there’s something to ease your hunger.

Address: 390 South Terrace, Fremantle

Segway Tours WA

If you want to see Perth without taking a step, get on board a Segway and cruise along Swan River, through the CBD and past Kings Park. With lessons and daily guided tours in the east, west and riverside areas, you can discover a lot more about this beautiful city at a faster pace, and you don’t even work up a sweat to do it! Tours are just $129pp and last at least one hour. If you want to try out your new skill, take to the Experience Zone and ride your Segway through the rails and over the bumps for $40. You’ll also find Segway Tours WA on Rottnest Island, so why not explore the historic isle gliding along on a Segway?

Bossman

True to its word, this shop knows coffee and ain’t afraid to say it. A Perth institution, Bossman only opened in November 2013 but has garnered a loyal following and deserves recognition. The cakes and pastries also deserve a mention, with Seville Orange Semolina, Pear Almond Tart and Cashew Honey Ladies Fingers. But they really do make good coffee. Like a boss.

Address: Shop 3, 669 Beaufort Street, Mt Lawley

Old Faithful

Heat up your winter with a BBQ at Old Faithful, and cool your tastebuds down with a cold Australian beer or carefully crafted cocktail. Meats are cooked slowly for tender juiciness, but waiting time is minimal, whether you opt for pulled pork, chicken wings or beef brisket. Served beside only the best ales from Feral Brewery in a polished restaurant, it’s astonishing to think they only opened in May. Open every day except Monday, from noon on weekdays and 5pm on weekends.

86 King Street, Perth
