Most wineries come with their own restaurants and wine tastings are paired with in-house gastronomical delights. For an immersive experience, read on for our picks of some of the best wineries in Australia.

Mount Broke Wines

Situated in New South Wales´ beautiful Hunter Valley amidst the breathtaking surroundings of Broke, the cellar door at Mount Broke Wines is quite centrally located. The venue is just a 20 minutes drive from the popular historic village of Wollombi and other popular towns such as Pokolbin and Singleton. The cellar door at Mount Broke Wines has the advantage of offering awe inspiring views from every angle of the venue so every seat in the house is a winner. Set within the remains of an old dairy farm, the cellar door offers a cosy and quaint atmosphere to enjoy some excellent wine options that the region has to offer. While the winery has developed a reputation for the best quality wines, its Shiraz is perhaps the most distinct variety that stands out.

Bird in Hand Winery

The Bird in Hand winery is situated in South Australia´s  Adelaide Hills. Very close to the town of Woodside, the cellar door was founded by the Nugent family. While the family is known  for its work in healthcare, namely by Dr. Michael Nugent and his wife, it is their son Andrew who brings his expertise to the winery. Having studied winemaking at Roseworthy College and worked at McLaren Vale for a few years, Andrew purchased the property in Woodside together with his family in the 1990s. The property was previously a dairy farm when Andrew Nugent, planted more than 30 hectares of vines in 1997 and its first vintage was brought to life in 2001. The building which houses the winery and cellar door  were renovated recently to upgrade its hospitality venue which hosts gatherings and concerts all year round.
