Mission Beach North Queensland
Travel Mission Beach
North Queensland is synonymous the world over with the Great Barrier Reef. While many a tourists will head straight for the tourist havens of Cairns and Port Douglas to get their glimpse, we at BBM Live highly recommend the unspoilt and untainted Mission Beach.
Mission Beach has accomodation and restaraunts to suit everyone, this palm fringed beach treasure is only an hours drive south of bustling Cairns, yet feels a whole world away. Boasting 14km worth of white sands, Mission Beach is much more than just a Great Barrier Reef access point. With 20 tropical islands just offshore (the closest being Dunk island), Mission beach is not only home to tropical fish and marine life but also that of the endangered Cassowary amongst a wealth of wildlife that includes the Ulysses Butterfly and the Green Tree Frog.
As if all that wasn’t enough to tempt or tease you into a visit, just down the road are the wonderful waterfalls of the Tully Gorge and walking tracks aplenty in the Murray Falls state park.
