Adventure tours On Kangaroo Island
Head over to Kangaroo Island for a festive season with a difference this summer.
Swap cranberry sauce for homegrown honey, chocolate-brown reindeer for chocolate-brown kangaroos, and soft white snow for soft white sand, and you’ve got yourself Christmas on Kangaroo Island.
South Australia’s largest island is just a ferry ride from Adelaide, and welcomes you with incredible natural beauty, from the flourishing bush to the rugged cliffs and many bays and beaches. Bathed in warm sunshine during December, you can truly explore this wonderland for what it’s worth. From the wilderness of Flinders Chase National Park in the southwest to the northeast town of Kingscote, there are many attractions spread throughout Kangaroo Island Adventure Tours packages .

Proud of local produce such as honey, eucalyptus oil, wool, wine and lavender, you can meet the farmers and growers and purchase a gift or two. It’s so popular, in fact, that you can follow a trail to farm gates and cellar doors, exploring Kangaroo Island as you do so.
The natural habitat of Kangaroo Island not only makes it ideal for local producers, but also for wildlife. Some of the best times you can have on Kangaroo Island are when in the company of the sea lions on Seal Bay, or when you find a family of kangaroos feasting upon on a headland. There are also echidnas, koalas, pelicans and dolphins that provide a plethora of wow moments.

The warm temperatures make December a great time to head to the coast. Vivonne Bay is renowned for being one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. With a sweeping curve of white sand and turquoise waters lapping the shore, it’s the perfect place to lie back and let the sun do its work. If you’re not one for sitting around, you can also try your hand at fishing, surfing and kayaking, or head up to Little Sahara – Kangaroo Island’s only sand dunes – and sand board your way down or get to grips with a quad bike. So if you are a thrill seeker, make sure you check out all Kangaroo Island Tour Deals to find an active package.

The coast is also where you will find Flinders Chase National Park. One of the most popular destinations on Kangaroo Island, it is home to two very unique geological formations. At the end of a wooden boardwalk is Remarkable Rocks; 500 million years old, these granite boulders have taken on an incredible shape, which justifies the name given to them – a particularly special photo opportunity with the ocean in the background. On the southwest tip of Flinders Chase National Park is Admirals Arch. Located near Cape du Couedic Lighthouse, this rock bridge was once a cave, and still holds the stalactites that dangle from the ceiling.

It may be not be your ordinary Christmas, but there are so many reasons to visit Kangaroo Island this December.
