What’s on in Northbridge in February – markets – free cinema – art

Northbridge is a kaleidoscope of food, art, free cinema, and nightlife. It is a cultural hub just a five-minute walk away for the city of Perth and is renowned for cafes, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. Northbridge is also the cultural center of Perth which houses the state theatre of Western Australia and the new Western Australian Museum. It also is the location of the Art Gallery of Western Australia which showcases over 1000 pieces of national and international artwork.

Markets

You can find leading fashion houses, outlet bargains, and chic boutiques in North Bridge. You can also find handmade crafts, arts, and organic produce. Many successful businesses begin their journeys from these markets where they showcase their products.

Northbridge Piazza

If you decide to come to the piazza, you can watch a free movie, listen to music, and enjoy an exhibition. You can also just sit on the grass and watch the world go by. During the day time, Piazza is the ideal place to sit with a coffee and experience the quiet place, however, the night time is when the area comes alive. It easily fills up with people and becomes the focal point of the area. The Piazza space has been designed for exhibitions, performances, sporting events festivals, and other cultural activities.

The LED screen which is a first for Perth is a Major attraction. The screen operates 24 hours a day where it showcases a variety of creative presentations, music, sports, and films.

What’s on Art

The Art gallery and Museum are the precincts in Northbridge. They also have Tthe State theatre, state library, and other smaller venues for food theatre and music.  You can walk into Northbridge from the entertainment district or you can walk over the footbridge from Perth’s CBD. You can enjoy the vegetable garden and community herb which is a part of this section. The Art gallery always has something for everyone. If there is a special exhibition you will need to pay a fee but generally, it is free. On the other hand, the museum is not free and you will be charged a very small fee.
