A bar named after the celebrated film director has opened in Sydney on the aptly named Stanley Street, which was supposedly a mere coincidence. A clean-cut, abstract venue that leans towards a more feminine appeal with no mahogany in sight, food comes in the way of oils, breads, cheeses and charcuterie meats while the wine list is short but enticing. The design is aesthetically pleasing and relaxed, which transports you right out of East Sydney and into a chic New York-style Italian café.

Café Lounge
A small bar turned performance space, Café Lounge is fit to burst when comedy, DJs and live music pay a visit every night of the week. Open until midnight Monday – Saturday and 10pm on Sundays, this bohemian cave is tucked away from the bright lights of Surry Hills, but comes alive with visitors enjoying The Comedy Lounge every Monday, $5 burgers and $5 beers on Thursdays and DJs spinning the tunes every weekend from 8pm.
